Covering the Uninsured

The problem of the uninsured is growing worse. The federal government estimates that nearly 46 million Americans lack coverage of any kind for an entire year. Other research shows that tens of millions more Americans go without health coverage for shorter periods of time.

United Way of Pierce County and area small business owners made strides to make changes locally, taking part in Cover the Uninsured Week, May 1-7, 2006.
