PARTNER PROFILE - Tacoma/Pierce County Affordable Housing Consortium

The Tacoma/Pierce County Affordable Housing Consortium (TPCAHC) is an association of organizations providing or developing housing for low and moderate-income households. AHC is working to expand the opportunities for nonprofit corporations and our community to produce, finance, and manage affordable housing. Programs include training, technical assistance, networking, and community education. TPCAHC was formed in 2003 and has 32 members.

Recent efforts:

  • TPCAHC co-sponsored a tour of affordable housing projects
  • TPCAHC are working with Tacoma City Council Members Julie Anderson and Tom Stenger and city staff to research policies and funding options to increase the supply of affordable housing within the city.
  • Experts in the state's Growth Management Act provided members with information about the county's comprehensive plans as they related to building and maintaining units affordable to those who cannot afford market rates.
