Back to School

United Way of Pierce County believes in education and wants every child to have the opportunity to reach their full potential. Due to financial struggles, school supplies are some of the basic needs many children go without. UWPC wants to change that and you can help.

Back-to-School connects local businesses, churches, families, and individuals to disadvantaged children who need a little help to start the school year prepared to succeed. There are three ways you can get involved.

Build a Back Pack
By choosing to build a back pack, you can provide all the necessary school supplies in a back pack for a child. You can choose to build a general back pack for either a boy or girl in a specific grade or you can be matched with a specific child and build a back pack based on their likes and needs.

Hold a Supply Drive
Place a collection bin at your office, store or church to collect supplies like notebooks, glue, crayons and pencils. The donated items will be distributed to children in need through local Family Support Centers.
