Workplace Campaign Team
Just who are all the players involved in helping run the United Way of Pierce County Community Campaign?
2008 Campaign Chair
First and foremost, there is our 2008 Campaign Chair Tim Farrell, Executive Director, Port of Tacoma. In this role, Tim serves as the key voice of the campaign, helps set goals for the campaign, attends UWPC Board and Executive Committee meetings, talks to CEOs throughout Pierce County and shares his knowledge about the major community issues being addressed by United Way of Pierce County through its investments in funded programs and impact initiatives.
Loaned Executives
A Loaned Executive (LE) is someone who has been loaned by their company (or sponsored by a company) to United Way. LEs assist campaign coordinators in planning and implementing a successful employee campaign, educate current and future donors about human service needs of Pierce County and answer questions about UWPC.
Loaned Executives serve during the main Community Campaign timeframe - from September through December. They are an invaluable resource and UWPC is honored that each one assists in helping Pierce County to LIVE UNITED.

Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) and Combined Fund Drive (CFD)
In addition to the Community Campaign, United Way of Pierce County also facilitates the CFC and CFD campaigns for our community. The Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) of the South Puget Sound is the sole workplace charitable campaign for more than 32,000 federal employees (both military and civilian) who work, serve and live in Pierce, Lewis and Thurston County. Federal employees can choose to give from over 1,000 charities (including over 200 local organizations) to not only help but create systematic change in our neighborhoods, communities and country as a whole.
The Combined Fund Drive (CFD) is the workplace charitable campaign for all Washington state government employees. It is operated out of Olympia but has volunteers throughout Washington. It allows state employees to give back to charities locally or throughout Washington state.
