United Way of Pierce County to Announce 2003 Community Campaign Results at Victory Celebration

January 22, 2004

Over 400 volunteers and donors will celebrate the 2003 charitable achievements in our community at the United Way of Pierce County Warm Your Heart Victory Celebration on February 11, at the Landmark Convention Center in Tacoma.

Despite employment woes and increased needs, the community rallied giving gifts of time, money and products for local nonprofit agencies. The total of these gifts will be announced on February 11.

The dollars raised will immediately be put to use in the Pierce County area, though local agency programs selected by United Way volunteers. Local citizen volunteers decide where to best invest donor dollars for the most impact on critical issues in our community. Examples are programs at the YWCA, Centro Latino, Lakewood Area Shelter Association, Helping Hand House in Puyallup and Key Peninsula Community Services.
