Get your running shoes ready and start training those kids. United Way of Pierce County and the Tacoma City Marathon will hold the first annual Kids Marathon Saturday, May 10th. Since kids are becoming increasingly less active, the Tacoma City Marathon and UWPC are partnering in this event to help youth learn more about the importance of health and wellness, the act of volunteering and increase community awareness. The marathon has 25 “mile” activities such as shooting hoops, reading books, and helping someone with a chore, and a final 1.2 mile exercise — right alongside the Tacoma City Marathon runners.
