As Chair of the 2005 Combined
Federal Campaign (CFC) of South Puget Sound, I first want
to thank each contributor and volunteer for helping raise
a record-setting $1.122 million dollars in 2004. That's an
increase of $52,000 over the 2003 campaign. These are simply
incredible results considering our local military bases had
over 10,000 soldiers and airmen departing or returning from
our global war against terrorists.
Federal employees in Pierce, Thurston and Lewis
Counties designated nearly $415,000 to the local agencies
that actively support your family, friends and neighbors in
the Puget Sound region. Remarkably, all of this was accomplished
with just 3 in 10 people participating in the CFC. Just imagine
how much more could be done if 4 in 10 people choose to participate
this year.
Another interesting fact is 81% of donors maximized
their generosity by choosing the payroll deductions option.
This option makes it convenient for you to be more generous
by letting you spread your contribution across the entire
year.
Once again, the slogan "It All Comes Back
TO YOU" will be used to reflect the powerful effects
local, national and international agencies have on your world.
Remember, you chose which agencies to support, and with nearly
2,000 pre-screened agencies listed in this years donor resource
guide, there is bound to be a cause or need that touches your
heart. The local section alone has 7 separate federations
with 228 member and unaffiliated agencies listed that are
hard at work in our community.
Please take a few minutes look to through this
donor resource guide or visit www.cfcgive.org to search
for CFC supported charitable organizations that have impacted
your life. Like me, I think you will be surprised at how many
organizations you will find that have touched your life, or
the lives of your family, friends and neighbors.
Feel the Power
Invest your time, talents
and financial resources to make your Community a better place
to live and work. By filling out a pledge card and making
a generous investment through the CFC to your agency of choice,
you will help ensure they can continue to provide the programs
and services that you believe in.
