A long-time community leader, Jerry Beckendorf retired from United Way of Pierce County after working 15 years as the United Way and Pierce County Labor Council's Labor Liason. His commitment and efforts to build a better community have made an impact in the lives of countless people. The Jerry Beckendorf Community Service Scholarship encourages future generations of union activists and volunteers by recognizing outstanding student volunteerism.

Scholarship applications have to be received by April 1, 2008 to be considered. Please note: you must be a student in Pierce County, Washington and parent(s) must be member of a labor union to apply.
