Union
Counselor Training
Do you wish your union membership better understood: the value
of union membership; the history of organized labor; why political
action is important to workers; and how community service
benefits us all?
Well now they will with the Union Counselor Training. United Way of Pierce County
and the Pierce County Central Labor Council, AFL-CIO is sponsoring
Union Counselor training. Training highlights include:
Why unions are good for the country
Forming alliances to strengthen the labor movement
The power of politics
Building a more caring community
Personal skill building
Developing a network of union activists to advance
labor's agenda
CLASSES BEING OFFERED
The next session of Union Counselor Training will be held in May and June.
Morning Classes - Tuesday & Thursday
Start date: Tuesday, May 22
End date: Thursday, June 14
Time: 9 to 11 a.m.
Location: IBEW Local 76 Union Hall, 3049 South 36th Street, Tacoma - Meeting Room TBD
Evening Classes - six week program
Start date: Monday, May 21
End date: Monday, June 18
Monday, May 28th - No class, Holiday
Time: 6 to 8 p.m.
Location: United Way of Pierce County, 1501 Pacific Ave. - 4th Floor, Tacoma - Room 404
