Planned Giving

Leave a Lasting Legacy…

Finding a way to make lasting changes that have the power to truly impact lives isn’t always easy. Communities are constantly changing, as are their human service needs. When you give to United Way of Pierce County your gift has the flexibility to fit the advancing needs of the community, creating opportunities that are enduring and sustainable.

Through a gift to United Way of Pierce County's Planned Giving program, you can leave a legacy to improve the health, educational opportunities and quality of life for those in need in the Pierce County area. When we are united, change is possible.

By making a planned gift, you are saying you want your community’s future to change for the better.

Gifts from Retirement Plans and Life Insurance
By listing United Way as the beneficiary of part or all of the balance of your retirement plan or IRA, you may dramatically reduce the amount of estate and income taxes to be paid by your estate. Your estate will be entitled to an estate tax charitable deduction for the full amount of the distribution. United Way is also not obligated to pay income tax, and the full amount of the plan or benefits directed to United Way for use in addressing urgent local human service needs or you are welcome to let us know if certain issues matter more to you.

If you would like to discuss planned giving through United Way, please contact Mike Robinson at (253) 597-7495 or miker@uwpc.org.
