Ways to Give

As a campaign coordinator, you are on the front line of communication when it comes to educating your organization about giving to United Way. There are so many different ways you and your co-workers can support our community - your generosity may take shape in the form of time, talent and/or treasure.

~ You make a living by what you get. You make a life by what you give. ~ Winston Churchill

Time/Talent
Would you like to give a gift of your time? Fantastic - United Way offers several different ways to help you do so:

  • Our annual Days of Caring events (Leadership, Community and Youth) connect volunteers with local nonprofit organizations to complete projects that may not otherwise get done.
  • Are you part of a group looking for a volunteer project? Or are you just looking to spend a day helping to make our community a better place? Contact our Volunteer Center to get connected to opportunities in Pierce County.
  • Do you know someone who has retired from their job and is looking to meet other retirees and serve their community at the same time? Point them to the Retired Seniors Volunteer Program (RSVP).
  • Project:U is a program designed to unite 20- and 30-somethings to develop, support and serve the Pierce County community. If you’re ready to mix it up and create a better community through action and friends, then this is the group for you.
  • Youth United offers high schoolers the opportunity to discover and develop skills, to apply their academic knowledge through service learning activities and to receive recognition for their volunteer efforts.

Treasure
Donations received via United Way’s annual Community Campaign, no matter the size, are greatly cherished. Several subcategories exist within our family of donors:

  • United Way of Pierce County Leadership Givers are those donors who invest $500 or more per year.
  • Dedicated Donors are those donors who have been investing through United Way of Pierce County for 5 years or more.
  • Membership in our Tocqueville Society (donors or $10,000 or more per year) honors local individuals for their generous support of our mission.

Donors can also give via our In Kind Donations program, help with school supplies or holiday gifts via our Seasonal Options program. Additionally, United Way offers Planned Giving options for donors who would like to create a lasting legacy of philanthropy.

United Way of Pierce County is also extremely grateful for the generosity of companies through Corporate Sponsorships.
