Spirit of Pierce County Award Winner
Russell Investment Group
has shown a consistent pattern of outstanding campaign results
over the past five years. They again were one of the top campaigns
in Pierce County. Employees raised $260,000 dollars and with
their company match theirtotal for 2003 is $320,000 dollars.
Their team approaches the campaign with passion and commitment,
following the example set by their CEO Craig Ueland. Their
leadership giving campaign is one of the most impressive in
the community. More than half of their donors are leadership
givers.
They have also shown ongoing support for the
community and for United Way of Pierce County above and beyond
the workplace campaign. More than 30 people volunteered for
the 2003 Day of Caring. Their team not only worked hard to
complete the project but also bought all the necessary materials
to help the agency. They participated in the Back-to-School
supply drive and had several associates who sponsored children.
They sponsored a Loaned Executive and sponsor major events
throughout the area. United Way is proud to have two of their
associates sit on our Board of Directors and another on our
marketing committee.
SPIRIT OF PIERCE COUNTY AWARD, which
represents the highest honor bestowed upon an organization
by United Way of Pierce County. This award is based upon the
broad-based, year long community involvement and campaign
excellence demonstrated by an organization.
Recipients of this award show a consistent pattern
of outstanding campaign results over the past five years including
active management support, knowledgable and motivated campaign
coordinators, and effective community involvements strategies.
Organizations receiving this award also show
ongoing support for the community and for United Way of Pierce
County above and beyond the workplace campaign, such as volunteer
service, participation in the Loaned Executive Program, and
sponsorship of major events.
