2007 Campaign Chairs, Donna and Steve Albers

Donna and Steve Albers are the owners of Albers & Company, a local company providing insurance and financial services and products to individuals and employers throughout Washington State. Both have been in the employee benefits business for more than 30 years. Steve started Albers & Company in 1985, which today provides employee benefits consulting and financial services to more than 125 clients throughout western Washington. Steve expanded the company in 1995 with the addition of the Financial Services Division to provide retirement planning and financial services for both groups and individuals. Donna joined the firm in 1996 – as in life, it’s ‘partners’ all the way.

Steve and Donna got their insurance background at Pierce County Medical, now Regence BlueShield. Donna started in 1972, working in Billing, Underwriting and Marketing as Assistant VP. Steve started as an Underwriter in 1975, leaving in 1985 as VP of Marketing.

Steve and Donna are active participants in the community. Steve was a charter member and one-time President of Tacoma’s Sunrise Rotary Club, and one-time president of Southwest WA Health Underwriters. They are City Club members; Steve was a Board Member and President. They were Pierce County Library Foundation Board Members; Steve just completed his final year as President. Donna has been active in Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital’s Festival of Trees, where she’s chaired 2 of the 3 evening events and participated on several committees. Steve is currently serving on the Board of American Leadership Form, and was a member of Class IX. Other past and present community involvement: Boys and Girls Clubs of Puget Sound, Tacoma Art Museum Activity Council, the Tacoma Pierce County Chamber and the YMCA.
