Your Role as a Campaign Coordinator

As a coordinator, your active involvement in your organization’s campaign is paramount.
Enthusiasm, creativity and planning are some of the main ingredients for conducting an
educational, exciting and successful employee campaign. You will also need management support to allow time to fullfill your responsibilities.n.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Attend the coordinator conference
  • Schedule an introductory planning meeting with your Account Executive or Loaned Executive.
  • Recruit an enthusiastic team who will help plan and run a fun, well-organized and successful campaign.
  • Review the giving history of your organization’s contributions and develop a plan to make improvements.
  • Work with your Account Executive or Loaned Executive from United Way to plan and implement a kick-off and special events to bring continuous awareness about the campaign to co-workers throughout your company.
  • Coordinate the distribution and collection of campaign materials and pledges.
  • Ensure effective and efficient campaign management by following-up on all aspects of the campaign.
  • Thank all employees who contribute and thank members of your campaign team.
  • Have fun!

A Loaned Executive is a person who is loaned or sponsored to United Way from a company, organization, or agency for 12 weeks during the annual community-wide campaign. Their role is to:

  • Assist you with planning and implementation of a successful employee campaign.
  • Analyze the giving history of your company and work with you to grow your campaign.
  • Provide educational materials on health and human service needs of Pierce County.
  • Help make presentations at campaign rallies, meetings and events, and make asks for contributions.
  • Help you manage the distribution and collection of campaign materials.
  • Answer questions about United Way of Pierce County and the key role it plays in our
    community.
  • Meet with you to collect all pledge forms and leftover campaign materials.

An Account Executive is a United Way staff member assigned to work with your campaign year round. They are available to answer questions and provide you with information. These staff members may be in contact with you after the campaign to give you the newest updates on United Way activities. The Account Executive can also assist with the same tasks as the Loaned Executive.
