Loaned Executive Intern - Job Description

Internship
Community Education and Resource Development

Use your talents to make measurable differences in the lives of people in Pierce County. Join the efforts of one of the largest human service organizations to help change lives. Through this internship opportunity you will enhance and develop fundraising, public speaking, project management, and volunteer coordination skills.

General Responsibilities:
" Attend two weeks of intensive orientation and training.
" Work directly with and train company representatives to organize and implement effective workplace campaigns.
" Give educational presentations to encourage charitable contributions and community involvement.
" Collect campaign contributions and pledge forms. Submit timely reports according to established financial recording process.
" Provide excellent customer service to donors, companies, volunteers, and other community members. Arrange for speakers, displays, or materials from local non-profit agencies for employee presentations. Arrange non-profit agency tours as necessary.
" Maintain accurate, organized, and comprehensive account files. Complete the necessary paperwork or documentation to assist in planning for future campaigns.
" Participate as a member of United Way's campaign team. Attend weekly meetings as well as campaign and organization events.

" Ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects, and perform under stressful conditions
" Basic math skills, proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
" Drivers license, use of a car, ability to carry up to 25 lbs. of campaign materials

Commitment: The internship will involve approximately 160 hours. Compensation of $500 per month will be paid by corporate sponsorship. The internship also includes mileage reimbursement.

Dates for this internship are August 22nd-December 9th. August 22nd-September 2nd are full time required training. The remaining three months are part time, approximately 15-20 hours per week.
