How do I qualify?

The process is done over the phone and eligibility can be determined in about five minutes. From there, 2-1-1 can also help callers complete the Basic Food application. On average, the process takes about 20 minutes to complete. There is no waiting in line and South Sound 2-1-1 can also check the status of your application once it has been submitted.
Who is Eligible?
New income eligibility criteria for the Basic Food program means that people who may not have qualified in the past may now be eligible for assistance. Single individuals, students, families with children, home owners and immigrants are all eligible for the Basic Food program.
