DAY ON THE HILL

DAY ON THE HILL

Throughout the community, United Way is well-known in workplaces for our campaigns and in agencies for our support. One facet of our work that is less visible to the community is our advocacy. Educating our leaders at the state capital to gain support for children and families in Pierce County is one of the most critical elements of our mission. Our efforts culminate on one day – our annual Day on the Hill.

WHAT IS DAY ON THE HILL?

Day on the Hill connects a team of United Way staff, volunteers and community members with legislators in Olympia to discuss the issues on our advocacy agenda. Led by United Way’s Public Policy Committee, the team focuses on issues that affect the greatest needs in our community including investments in early learning programs, the 2-1-1 Call Center, and more.

WHEN IS DAY ON THE HILL?

Day on the Hill happens every February. Sign ups will be available several weeks before.

HOW CAN I PARTICIPATE?

Join us the day of, or support our efforts year-round by contacting your legislators. For more information, please contact Heidi Hansen at heidih@uwpc.org or (253) 272-4263.
