Russell Investments Extends Major Grant
to United Way of Pierce County -Investment Firm Initiates $500,000 Charitable Giving Challenge United Way of Pierce County announced today a major grant from Russell Investments aimed at raising up to $1 million for the Pierce County community. The $500,000 challenge grant will be used to match every new dollar donated to the Community Campaign administered by United Way of Pierce County. The money from the campaign is used to fund local programs and systemic changes in the areas of Education, Income, Health and Emergency Services. The challenge grant is in addition to support the United Way already receives from many Russell associates and related corporate matching gifts from Russell. FULL STORY
Record Number of Pierce County Youth Earn Varsity Letters in Community Service Youth United, a program of United Way of Pierce County, will honor a record number of Pierce County high school students with varsity letters in community service this year. Varsity letters were awarded to 317 students who volunteered a combined total of more than 78,000 hours of service. Youth United honored the varsity letter recipients at a dessert reception May 25 at the Tacoma Dome Exhibition Hall. FULL STORY
