Anita brings more than 30 years of financial leadership experience, with a strong background in nonprofit, educational, and corporate finance. Most recently, she served as Assistant Controller for Greater Twin Cities United Way, where she managed complex grant funding, financial reporting, audits, donor-restricted funds, and community investment payments while supporting an organization with a significant annual budget and community impact portfolio.
Throughout her career, Anita has built a reputation for strong fiscal stewardship, process improvement, audit excellence, and collaborative leadership. Her experience includes overseeing multimillion-dollar budgets, managing federal and state grant compliance, leading financial audits, and implementing systems that improve transparency, efficiency, and accountability.
What impressed us most during the hiring process was Anita's understanding of the critical role finance plays in advancing mission-driven work. She believes that sound financial management is not simply about balancing budgets—it is about ensuring organizations have the resources, information, and infrastructure needed to create meaningful community impact.
In addition, Anita's appreciation for the connection between strong financial stewardship and community impact made her an especially strong fit for UWPC and our work to help ALICE families achieve financial stability."
Anita and her husband, Kevin, recently relocated to Tacoma on June 4, along with their dog, Hank, and Zeppelin, their cat. They are excited to make this community their new home.
