Living in her car, Amber and her children needed help, fast!
The temperature dropped quickly, and the rain was pouring down. Another cold front was ushering in the fall. While the leaves were turning, Amber and her children were huddled in her car, not able to enjoy the changing colors.
Amber was fleeing domestic violence. When she left her home, she took nothing. While living in her car, Amber felt hopeless and lost. She had almost given up and had no idea how to get out of her situation.
Because of your support, United Way of Pierce County was there to provide that lifeline. The South Sound 211 Call Center Navigators were able to help find the resources Amber needed to get a roof over her and her children’s heads.
Amber wrote, “Because of them, I have a head start toward the life I want to give my children and myself. My children and I will forever be thankful for everyone in this life-saving organization that has helped us through our storms.
OUR BOLD GOAL is to lift 15,000 families out of poverty and into self-sufficiency,
one family at a time.
Your donations have made a huge impact in helping people like Amber move from
crisis to stability!
