Let's Celebrate Women's History Month

Women’s History Month

During Women’s History Month, we celebrate the courageous women who have helped our nation build a fairer, more just society.

Throughout history, the vision and achievements of powerful women have strengthened our country and opened doors of opportunity wider for all of us. Though their stories have too often gone untold, we all stand on the shoulders of these sung and unsung trailblazers — from the women who took a stand as suffragists, abolitionists, and labor leaders to pioneering scientists and engineers, groundbreaking artists, dedicated public servants, and brave members of our Armed Forces.

Women’s History Month is a time to honor those who came before us and to recognize the women who continue to shape our communities today.

Here in Pierce County, women are leading efforts that strengthen families, support economic stability, expand access to education, and build healthier communities. Through their leadership in nonprofits, businesses, schools, and public service, women play a vital role in advancing opportunity and equity across our region.

At United Way of Pierce County, we are proud to work alongside women leaders, advocates, volunteers, and community partners who are helping to tackle the root causes of poverty and build a future where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

Throughout the month, we encourage our community to learn, reflect, and celebrate the women who have shaped our history — and those who are shaping our future.
