Together for ALICE 2026: Town Hall Resources

Thank you to everyone who joined United Way of Pierce County for Together for ALICE: An Update on Financial Hardship in Washington & Pierce County on August 5, 2026.

During the town hall, speakers shared the latest data on the financial challenges facing ALICE households—families and individuals who are Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed. ALICE households are working, yet their income is often not enough to cover the rising cost of basic necessities such as housing, childcare, food, transportation and healthcare.

Federal funding changes and shifting economic conditions are adding to the financial pressure experienced by thousands of families in Pierce County and across Washington.

At the same time, our speakers shared stories of perseverance, resilience and hope. ALICE families are a vital part of our communities, and we all have a role to play in creating opportunities that help every community member thrive.

Below, you’ll find the town hall recording, presentation and resources shared during the conversation.
