Annie Frisbie Joins United Way of Pierce County as Chief Development Officer

February 12, 2024 – Pierce County, Wash. — United Way of Pierce County is pleased to announce the hire of Annie Frisbie as Chief Development Officer. 
United Way of Pierce County is thrilled to announce the appointment of Annie Frisbie as Chief Development Officer. With a diverse background spanning over 14 years in social services, fundraising, program management, and finance, Annie brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to community service to her new role.

Originally from Nairobi, Kenya, Annie's journey led her to the United States in 2006. She earned her MBA in Finance and Organizational Leadership from Maryville University in St. Louis, Missouri. Her dedication to serving others has been evident throughout her career, notably in her recent position as Director of Strategic Advancement at World Relief, where she passionately advocated for refugees and immigrants, recognizing the importance of creating inclusive communities.

In her new role at United Way of Pierce County, Annie will spearhead efforts to generate, grow, and sustain corporate and individual donors, ensuring the organization's ability to support its mission effectively. She will provide leadership and management to the workplace campaign team, cultivating relationships with campaign coordinators, volunteers, advocates, supporters, and donors to achieve revenue goals.

Annie Frisbie shared her excitement about joining United Way, saying, "I'm eager to contribute to United Way's mission of lifting households out of poverty and into self-sufficiency while upholding their dignity. I look forward to supporting and growing our philanthropic efforts in the community."

Outside of work, Annie and her husband Shoxx, residents of Renton, enjoy exploring the outdoors, hiking, road trips, photography, volunteering, and indulging in comedy shows. Annie is also prepared to take on the role of an Emcee when the opportunity arises.
