ALICE Business Roundtable | United Way of Pierce County

On behalf of United Way of Pierce County and Workforce Central, Dona Ponepinto and Katie Condit would like to invite you to join fellow business and community leaders for the Together for ALICE Business Roundtable:

Due to increased registration, we are moving the Summit from WorkSource on 2121 S State Street to the United Way of Pierce County offices.

NEW LOCATION
United Way of Pierce County
1501 Pacific Ave., Suite 400 – 4th Floor
Tacoma, WA 98402

Parking: Parking in the United Way lot is limited and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. We will provide additional information Tuesday afternoon on more spots. Parking is also available on the street, at the Tacoma Art Museum next door, and in several public parking lots near our building.

Lunch from Panera Bread will be provided, with a variety of sandwiches and salads (including vegetarian options). Please let us know if you have any questions. We’re delighted by the strong response to the Summit and look forward to seeing you on Wednesday!

Across Pierce County, many of the people who keep our businesses and communities running are working—and still struggling to make ends meet. These households are ALICE: Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed. They are an essential part of our workforce, yet the rising cost of housing, childcare, transportation, food, and other basic necessities is making economic stability increasingly difficult to achieve.

This roundtable will bring business and community leaders together to learn more about the realities facing ALICE households, hear local perspectives, and discuss how employers and community partners can be part of creating greater economic stability and opportunity in Pierce County. We will also introduce ALICE @Work, an employer-focused initiative offering practical strategies and resources that can support employee stability, retention, and productivity.

Your perspective as a business leader is important to this conversation, and we hope you will consider joining us. Here is the link to registration Together for ALICE Business Roundtable
