Celebrating Filipino American History Month

October is Filipino American History Month, a time to honor the history, culture, contributions and experiences of Filipino Americans in Pierce County, across Washington and throughout the country.

Throughout the month, local and regional organizations are hosting opportunities to celebrate Filipino culture, connect with community, learn from shared history and hear stories from Filipino American voices.

3rd Annual Filipino American Heritage Month Celebration

Kalayaan Summit 2026

Kalayaan Summit 2026 brings the Filipino community together for a day of connection, conversation and learning. The event includes a morning community summit followed by an afternoon Health Symposium.

Join the Filipino American National Historical Society – Greater Puget Sound Chapter for the 3rd Annual Filipino American History Month Commemoration, presented as part of the Washington State History Museum’s Free Third Thursdays.

The event will feature community organizations, vendors, performances and programming exploring the role of land in Filipino and Filipino American life in Washington.
