United Way of Pierce County is on a bold mission: to lift 15,000 hardworking families out of poverty by 2028. Through vital programs like Centers for Strong Families, our Access Pierce helpline, and essential support services — including transportation, childcare, and housing assistance — we are empowering families to achieve lasting financial stability.
To support this critical work, United Way of Pierce County is hosting Sip, Serve & Celebrate on June 24, 2026, at the Washington State Fair Events Center — a unique event that combines hands-on service with celebration.
Each summer, we come together to tackle food insecurity by assembling nutritious snack packs for local meal sites while also honoring the incredible contributions of our volunteers, donors, and community partners.
Together, We’ll:
- Pack 4,000 snack packs to help keep local children nourished during the summer months
- Celebrate the volunteers, donors, and partners who make this work possible
- Raise funds through raffles to support ALICE families with essentials like food, safe housing, affordable childcare, financial literacy, and job opportunities

There are plenty of ways to support Sip, Serve & Celebrate and help us reach our goal of packing 4,000 snack packs for local students and families.

Gather friends, coworkers, neighbors, or your organization to collect snack pack items, including:
- Granola bars
- Nutri-Grain® bars
- Applesauce pouches
- Yogurt pouches
- Goldfish® crackers
- Fruit snacks

Volunteer Behind the Scenes
Help make the event a success by assisting with setup and cleanup. Volunteers are needed to:
- Organize tables and supplies
- Set up assembly lines
- Pack and move boxes
- Assist with event teardown
