What is the application like?

It's a fairly clinical application that will take some time to complete. It can be filled in over time, as long as the browser window is not closed. It should be easy to read and available in multiple languages. It is important to keep the browser window open until you receive notice that your response has been received.

How do I apply?

One person, who must be 18 years of age or older, from each household should fill out the online application by 11:59 pm on Monday, August 16th. It is up to each household to decide who fills out the application. Individuals who complete the online form are agreeing that they are willing to be included in any of the below groups.

How are participants chosen?

One hundred participants will be chosen at random from a pool of qualified individuals. People who respond to this invitation will be randomly put into one of the three groups:

Group 1

Group 2

Group 3

One group will be randomly selected to get $500 per month for 12 months directly deposited into a personal account. This group will complete surveys and interviews to help us understand how guaranteed income works. This group will be paid $30 on a gift card for each survey they complete.

This group will not get the monthly $500 stipend. This group will complete surveys and interviews to help us understand how guaranteed income works. This group will be paid $30 on a gift card for each survey they complete.

What happens next?

We will email individuals selected for Group 1 and Group 2 in mid-September. Individuals in Group 3 will not receive a phone call, they should check the website to see that we have finished notifications to participants. Participants in this program will be kept private and confidential. Only employees of GRIT and the research team will know the names of the participants.
